Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Levantine Lens (“the Service”) is a web and iOS toolkit for Levantine Arabic — featuring conversation tools, real dialogues, games, and vocabulary features. The Service is provided “as is” and is continually being improved.

2. Account & Authentication

You may create an account using Google OAuth or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information and may not impersonate others or create accounts for fraudulent purposes.

3. Subscription Terms

Levantine Lens offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. Web subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Pro subscriptions purchased inside the iOS app are billed through Apple in-app purchase and managed in your Apple ID settings. Tutoring purchases may be processed through Stripe where available. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel.

Features and pricing are subject to change. We will provide notice of any material changes to subscription terms or pricing.

4. Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel a Stripe-billed Pro subscription from your dashboard. You may cancel an Apple-billed Pro subscription in your Apple ID settings. Access continues until the end of your current billing period. Refund requests for Apple-billed purchases are handled by Apple; refund requests for Stripe-billed purchases can be sent to us. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months unless required by law. If you experience technical issues that prevent you from using the Service, contact us and we will work to resolve them.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, scrape, crawl, or systematically download content from the Service
• Copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, display, or create derivative works from Service content (including dialogues, audio recordings, dictionary entries, grammar patterns, phrasebook content, game data, or generated outputs) beyond personal use
• Use the Service or any content derived from it to train, fine-tune, benchmark, or improve any model, automated system, or competing language product
• Extract, record, capture, or archive generated outputs (including speech reflections, article conversions, image labels, chat responses, or vocabulary suggestions) for purposes other than personal use
• Use Service content to build, develop, or operate any product or service that competes with Levantine Lens
• Use the Service for commercial instruction, paid tutoring, group or institutional delivery at scale, or any revenue-generating activity without a separate written commercial license
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure, or bypass any security, authentication, rate limiting, or content protection measures
• Share your account credentials or subscription access with others
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service beyond normal usage patterns
• Impersonate Levantine Lens or imply endorsement by Levantine Lens without explicit written permission
• Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or attribution notices in Service content

6. Content Ownership & License

All Service content — including dialogues, audio recordings, transcripts, dictionary entries, grammar patterns, phrasebook entries, game data, content structure, images, design, and copy — is the exclusive property of Levantine Lens and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The “Levantine Lens” name, logo, and product design are trademarks of the Service owner.

Your use of the Service grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use Service content solely for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not grant you any rights to:

• Redistribute, republish, or share Service content publicly or with others beyond normal personal use
• Create public databases, instructional materials, flashcard decks, or products derived from Service content
• Train, evaluate, or develop models using Service content or generated outputs
• Use Service content for commercial instruction, paid tutoring, or revenue-generating activities without a separate written license from Levantine Lens

Auto-generated content (including article conversions, image labels, speech reflections, and practice conversations) is produced on-demand for your personal use under the same limited license. You receive usage rights but not ownership of these outputs; Levantine Lens retains all intellectual property rights in the underlying models, prompts, systems, and methodologies that generate them.

Vocabulary lists, saved words, and personal progress data you create belong to you. You may export or delete your data at any time. If you wish to use Service content for any purpose beyond personal use — including educational institutions, group or institutional use, commercial tutoring, or integration into another product — contact us about a commercial license.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Auto-generated content may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies — it is intended for informational purposes and should not be relied upon as a sole reference.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
